ipswich city mechanical warranty terms & conditions

All parts and services supplied by Ipswich City Mechanical are covered under our warranty terms of 12 months or 20,000klms (whichever occurs first). If there is a default identified in any goods or services during this applicable period, we will correct, repair or replace the defective goods or services.

Details of our warranty

Warranty is provided to customers who acquire goods or services from Ipswich City Mechanical. It is applicable from the date of invoice of the goods or service until (a) 12 months after the date of invoice of the applicable goods or services, or (b) the date on which the applicable vehicle has travelled 20,000klms since the klms on the invoice of the goods or services. And this will only apply to defects that arise and are notified to us during the Guarantee period.

Subject to applicable laws, you will be responsible for any expenses we incur in connection with your claim under the Ipswich City Mechanical terms and conditions (other than the cost of remedying the defect subject to the Ipswich City Mechanical terms and conditions).

All parts supplied by Ipswich City Mechanical are at the manufacturer or suppliers' warranty unless otherwise stipulated.

How to claim

All claims will be assessed by Ipswich City Mechanical under the terms and conditions.

It is the responsibility of the owner to return the vehicle to our workshop for assessment. If it is impractical to return the vehicle to Ipswich City Mechanical, you must have the vehicle towed to an RACQ Approved Repairer or another appointed repairer approved by Ipswich City Mechanical.

Repairs must not be carried out by another repairer until you have informed Ipswich City Mechanical by phone call or email (07 3812 1341 or admin@ipswichcitymechanical.com.au)

When you contact us, you will be required to provide your invoice or proof of original purchase. The warranty only applies to the original purchaser of the goods or services. If the warranty is deemed to apply, we will discuss how the defect in the goods or services is addressed.

Exclusions

Warranty will not apply to the following:

  1. Defects arising as a consequence of damage to the goods or services are caused by:
  2. Accident, fire or theft;
  3. As a result of towing;
  4. Misuse of the vehicle or where the vehicle is used in a competition of a closed-circuit event; or
  5. By continuing to operate the vehicle after a defect is known;
  6. Any modifications, alterations to or removal of any product/s from the vehicle by anyone not authorised by us;
  7. Where work has been done to the vehicle by a 3rd party goods/service where received, unless such work was explicitly authorised by us;
  8. Where the vehicle is/has been damaged by causes beyond our control;
  9. Where goods or services are supplied by a part other than Ipswich City Mechanical;
  10. Damaged caused by fair wear and tear.

Ipswich City Mechanical warranty only applies to the direct costs of remedying a defect. To the extent permitted by law, we have no liability (including liability in negligence) to any person for any loss or damage, consequential or otherwise, suffered or incurred by that person in relation to the goods or services.

Additional warranties

Some manufacturers may provide warranties for goods or services beyond the Ipswich City Mechanical warranty terms and conditions. Ask our office for any details of any applicable extended warranty or details that will be on your invoice.
